Valzhyna Mort

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Valzhyna Mort writes in Belarusian and English. Her new book, Music for the Dead and Resurrected, is coming out in November 2020 from Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Mort is the author of Factory of Tears and Collected Body (Copper Canyon Press) and a recipient of the Lannan Foundation fellowship, Amy Clampitt fellowship, Bess Hokins Prize from Poetry, the Gulf Coast Journal Prize in translation and, most recently, the NEA grant for translation. She teaches at Cornell University.
