The Mandayee bazaar in Kabul’s old city is no tourist souk. Stop to gawp at some oddity of life here and you might be trampled under the mucky wheels of an overladen handcart. At the back of the bazaar, along the narrow muddy lanes and behind a nondescript black curtain, is Musafa Ali’s sweet factory.
As the votes are counted in yesterday’s election in Afghanistan, Musafa talks about the road to peace in his country and how business has changed for him since the fall of the Taliban.
