Lindsey Hilsum is International Editor of Channel Four News and the author of Sandstorm: Libya in the Time of Revolution, shortlisted for the Guardian first book award.
In 1994, she was the only English-speaking foreign correspondent working in Rwanda when the genocide began. Her essay in the latest issue of Granta tells of her return to the country nineteen years after the conflict.
