Tony Gould

Tony Gould served in the 7th Gurkha Rifles in Malaya, India and Hong Kong. Invalided out of the army with polio, he read English at Cambridge, and then went on to work as a radio producer for the BBC and as literary editor of the New Statesman & Society. His books include Death in Chile: A Memoir and a Journey,(1992) Inside Outsider: The Life and Times of Colin MacInnes (1993) and, most recently, A Summer Plague: Polio and its Survivors.
