Robert Olmstead is the author of several novels including, America by Land, A Trail of the Heart’s Blood Whenever We Go, Soft Water and most recently Coal Black Horse, which received the Chicago Tribune Heartland Prize. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.
