Nirad Chaudhuri (1897 – 1999) was born in rural Bengal, relocating to England in 1970. His books include The Autobiography of an Unknown Indian (1951), A Passage to England (1959), The Continent of Circe (1965), Hinduism (1979) and Three Horsemen of the New Apocolypse (1997).
