Leila Guerriero was born in 1967 in Argentina. She lives in Buenos Aires, where she has been a journalist since 1991. Her first job was as an editor for Pagina/30 magazine, which is part of the newspaper Pagina/12.
Since then, she has published in various newspapers and magazines in Argentina and abroad: La Nacion and Rolling Stone magazine in Argentina; El Pais and Vanity Fair in Spain; El Malpensante and Soho in Colombia; Etiqueta Negra in Peru; Milenio, Letras Libres, Gatopardo and Travesias in Mexico; Paula Magazine, El Mercurio and Las Ultimas Noticias in Chile; and El Pais in Uruguay, among others.
In April of 1998 she contributed to Mujeres Argentinas, edited by Alfaguara. Since 2002 she has served as Southern Cone and Latin American editor for the Mexican travel magazine Travesias. Since May 2006 she has also served as Souther Cone editor of Gatopardo.
In 2005 she published her first book, Los Suicidas del Fin del Mundo; it has been translated into Italian and Portuguese. In 2009 she released Frutos Extraños, Cronicas Reunidas 2001-2008.
She has given lectures, talks and workshops in various Latin-American and Spanish universities.
