Stephen Jay Gould
Stephen Jay Gould (1941–2002) was an influential American paleontologist, evolutionary biologist and historian of science. He wrote over twenty best-selling books and nearly a thousand scientific papers. His books include The Mismeasure of Man, The Flamingo’s Smile, Hen’s Teeth and Horse’s Toes, An Urchin in the Storm and The Structure of Evolutionary Theory. He received numerous awards including the MacArthur Foundation Prize Fellowship, the Medal of Edinburgh and the Silver National Medalm of the Zoology Society of London.
