Ian Willms is a Canadian photographer whose practice lies between traditional photojournalism and contemporary photography. In ‘Why We Walk’, Willms traced the journey of his Mennonite ancestors fleeing persecution in 1920s Russia across Europe to Canada.
‘There are glimmers of the reality beyond, the promise of redemption even in the darkest places.’
Adam Foulds introduces the photography of Ian Willms.
