Fran Bigman just finished a PhD at the University of Cambridge on representations of abortion in British literature and film. Her book reviews have appeared in the Times Literary Supplement, Wasafiri, Forbes.com, Words Without Borders and the Jewish Quarterly. From 2002-2004, she taught English at Tottori Nishi High School in western Japan.
