Stanley Booth was born in 1942 in Waycross, Georgia. He is a music journalist who has written about many of the key figures in music including Otis Redding, Janis Joplin and Elvis Presley. He has written extensively on the Rolling Stones, one of his earliest in-depth articles appearing in Granta 12 which carried the same title: ‘The True Adventures of the Rolling Stones.’
