Robert O’Connor was born in 1959 in Manhattan, grew up in Eastchester, a New York suburb, and took degrees from New York State and Syracuse universities. He currently teaches Advanced Fiction and Intermediate Screenwriting at SUNY Oswego, and lives in upstate New York with his wife, Donna, and family. He is the author of one novel, Buffalo Soldiers, which was named a Notable Book of 1993 by the New York Times, and in 1996 was named as one of Granta’s Best of Young American Novelists. Buffalo Soldiers has since been adapted into a film.
