Robert McLiam Wilson was born in 1964. He has written three novels: Ripley Bogle (1989), Manfred’s Pain (1992) and Eureka Street (1996). He has also written a non-fiction book about poverty in the UK, The Dispossessed (1992). In 2003 he was selected as one of Granta‘s Best of Young British Novelists. ‘The Dreamed’, which was published in Granta 81, comes from his forthcoming novel, The Extremists.
