Michel Faber is Dutch by birth, grew up in Australia and now lives in the Scottish Highlands. He has published four novels, including The Crimson Petal and the White (Canongate/Harcourt), and three short-story collections, most recently The Apple (Canongate). His work also appeared recently in Not One More Death, a collection of essays published by Verso in collaboration with the Stop the War Coalition.
