Khademul Islam is a Bangladeshi writer, editor, and translator. He was born in Karachi and educated in Dhaka and Boston. He was a Fulbright Scholar and taught at Dhaka University. He was the literary editor of Bangladeshi newspaper ‘The Daily Star’ (2003-2009) where he brought out The Daily Star Book of Bangladeshi Writing (2005). He is currently the literary editor of the ‘Dhaka Tribune’ and Bengal Lights, a literary journal, and is working on his nonfiction book, Shooting at Sharks, due out from Bloomsbury, London, in 2014.
