Juan Rodolfo Wilcock (1919–1978) was an Argentine writer, poet, critic and translator, closely linked to Jorge Luis Borges and Silvina Ocampo. ‘Night of the Gnomes’ is a new translation, taken from Wilcock’s first collection of stories, El caos (The Chaos), published in 1974.
