Graham Coster is a former Assistant Editor of Granta. Born in 1960 in Croydon, he read English at Cambridge, and worked on the magazine from 1983 to 1987. He is the author of a novel, Train, Train, and of another travel book, A Thousand Miles from Nowhere. He is also the editor of The Wild Blue Yonder, an anthology of writing about flying. His travel journalism has appeared in the Daily Telegraph, GQ, the Independent on Sunday and Condé Nast Traveller. He now works as an editor for the publishing house Aurum Press. He lives in London.
