Fan Wu grew up on a farm in southern China, where her parents were exiled during the Cultural Revolution. She moved to the United States in 1997 to study at Stanford University. Her first novel, February Flower, was published in 2007. She writes in both English and Chinese. Her most recent novel is Beautiful as Yesterday. She lives in northern California where she works as a web editor.
