Caroline Lamarche lives near Brussels. Her second novel, Le Jour du Chien (Minuit) won the Prix Rossel. ‘Night in the Afternoon’ (Granta 59) is taken from her first novel, La nuit L’Après-Midi, and is the first English translation of her work.
