Bill Morris grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and has worked as a newspaper reporter in Washington, D.C. and a disc jockey in Nashville, Tennessee. He now lives in North Carolina and writes a weekly column for the Greensboro News and Record. He owns two 1954 Buicks. ‘Motorama 1954’ (Granta 38) is his first published fiction. It was included in Biography of a Buick, a novel, that was published in Britain by Granta Books and in the United States by Alfred A. Knopf in 1992.
