Amartya Sen is Lamont University Professor, and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, at Harvard University and was until recently the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. His books include Rationality and Freedom, The Argumentative Indian and Identity and Violence: The Illusion of Destiny. In 1998 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics.
