Adrian Tomine was born in 1974 in Sacramento, California. He is the writer/artist of the ongoing comic book series Optic Nerve, as well as the books Shortcomings, Summer Blonde and Scenes from an Impending Marriage. Since 1999, he has been a regular contributor to the New Yorker, and those covers and illustrations have been collected in the book New York Drawings. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and daughter.
