Ellen Gilchrist is the author of seven novels including The Annunciation and The Anna Papers; eleven collections of short stories including The Land of Dreamy Dreams, Flights of Angels, The Courts of Love and Victory over Japan, which won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1984, two collections of poems, a collection of essays and a memoir.
