Fae Myenne Ng was born in 1956 in San Francisco. She attended the University of California-Berkley and received her MFA from Columbia. She is the author of two novels, Bone (1993) which was nominated for the Pen-Faulker Award, and, Steer Toward Rock (2008), which won the American Book Award. Her stories have also appeared in Harper’s and Bostonia. In 1996 she was selected as one of Granta‘s Best Young American Novelists. She lives in New York.
