Senior Marketing Manager, Granta Publications
I joined Granta in 2018, heading up the marketing department and working across the books list and the magazine. My job is wonderfully varied, incorporating the planning of advertising campaigns and partnerships, the creation of point-of-sale materials, and the design of proofs. Before Granta I was Head of Marketing at Foyles, where I worked for a decade. My career highlight there was overseeing the launch campaign for the new flagship shop in 2014. In my spare time I’m an aspiring puppeteer and sing in a choir (rarely at the same time).
My favourite short story: ‘Sticks’ by George Saunders. It is bittersweet and ingeniously compacts a whole lifetime into just over a page.
The book I reread: Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome. Blending lyrical descriptions of life on the river with side-splitting slapstick, it is the ultimate literary pick-me-up.
