I’m a chartered accountant with a background in arts administration, first in museums and then in historic houses, and working for charities in the fields of education and grant giving. I’ve been involved with Granta since 2015, first as company secretary, and then in the finance team from 2019. A book I love from Granta’s backlist: I love the sweep and narrative energy of Joseph Roth’s The Radetzky March, in an apparently effortless translation by Michael Hofmann. The book I always recommend: Carys Davies’s West. A slight volume but one where every page is entrancing, distilled to its essence in a way which makes one think of the great legends.
