Elizabeth Tallent was born in Washington, D.C. in 1954. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker and have been included in the Pushcart Prize Anthology and the Best American Short Stories. ‘Why I Love Country Music’ (Granta 8) was included in her first collection of short stories, In Constant Flight. She has been a faculty member at Stanford University since 1994.
