Jessie Greengrass’s collection of short stories, An Account of the Decline of the Great Auk, According to One Who Saw It, won the 2016 Edge Hill Short Story Prize and a Somerset Maugham Award. Her debut novel, Sight, was shortlisted for the 2018 Women’s Prize for Fiction. ‘The High House’ is an extract from a novel of the same name, forthcoming from Swift Press in April 2021.
