Fawwaz Traboulsi was born in Beirut, where he is Associate Professor teaching history and politics at the Lebanese American University. He is the author of On an Incurable Hope, a diary of the siege of Beirut in 1982, and recently, A History of Modern Lebanon. He has also translated works by Gramsci and John Reed.
