Alison Bechdel
Alison Bechdel’s comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For has become a cultural institution for lesbians and non-lesbians the world over since it first appeared in 1983. Her graphic memoir Fun Home was nominated for a 2006 National Book Critics Circle Award. She lives in the woods near Burlington, Vermont.
