Andrés Ressia Colino was born in Montevideo in the middle of a military dictatorship that would continue until 1985. With a degree in Biological Science, he currently works at a pharmaceutical laboratory in Uruguay. He made his literary debut in 2005 with a short story in Pimba! magazine and in 2007 he published his first novel, Palcante. In 2008, he received the Municipal Prize for Fiction for the novel Parir.
