Hisham Matar

Hisham Matar’s debut novel In the Country of Men was shortlisted for the 2006 Man Booker Prize and the 2006 Guardian First Book Award. His 2016 memoir, The Return, was the recipient of many awards including the 2017 Pulitzer Prize, the 2017 PEN/Jean Stein Book Award and the 2017 Rathbones Folio Prize. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. A version of ‘The Guests’ was delivered as the 2018 Edward W. Said Memorial Lecture at Columbia University.
