Dinaw Mengestu is the author of was born in Ethiopia and raised in Chicago. He is the author of The Beautiful Things that Heaven Bears (Riverhead), published in the UK as Children of the Revolution (Jonathan Cape) and How to Read the Air. He is the recipient of the Guardian First Book Award, and one of the New Yorker’s ‘20 under 40’ writers to watch.
