Sinéad O’Callaghan

Assistant Editor, Granta Books

I assist the editors, helping them to steer the books we publish through the acquisitions process. After a degree in Creative Writing with English and Irish, I moved to London and had one goal: to work for a literary publishing house. I eventually found myself here at Granta. I love the variety of my job, how eclectic and collaborative it is, being exposed to so many different brilliant minds and ideas. Some days I am clearing permissions, others I am delving deep into edits or perfecting a filing system. I also oversee the Granta Editions, our collection of outsider classics.

A book I love from Granta’s backlist: anything by Hiromi Kawakami, Han Kang, Janet Malcolm, A.M. Homes, Danny Denton or Mark O’Connell.
