Donald Barthelme

Donald Barthelme (1931–1989) was a short-story writer and novelist whose work appeared regularly in the New Yorker. His story collections include Come Back, Dr. Caligari, Unspeakable Practices, Unnatural Acts, City Life, Sadness which won the National Book Award in 1972, and have subsequently been brought together in two collections Forty Stories and Sixty Stories. He was the author of four novels: Snow White, The Dead Father, Paradise and The King.
