Catherine Taylor is a freelance writer, editor and critic for Guardian Review, FT Life & Arts, the Economist and the TLS, among others. She is the former deputy director of English PEN, commercial director of the non-profit quarterly Brixton Review of Books and editor of The Book of Sheffield: A City in Short Fiction (Comma Press, 2019). She is currently at work on The Stirrings, a cultural memoir of Sheffield in the 1970s and 80s.
