Leslie Cockburn’s ‘America’s Secret War’, published in Granta 22, later formed part of Out of Control, her investigation into the US government’s covert operations in Central America during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. Her other books include Dangerous Liaison and One Point Safe, both co-authored with her husband Andrew Cockburn, and Looking for Trouble: Six Wars and a Revolution.
